October 4, 2009 Day +2377 Day +2075 off therapy (through oct. 10)

Today I went to church and left the boys at home. It is not a good excuse, but they had to get the ball filed ready for our first ball game of the fall ball season. The game started at 1:00 and I knew there was no way we could change, eat and get that field raked, lined etc. by 1:00. So, we split up and met back up at the field.

Logan is loving it and hating it. He is the only child from the allstar team that did not move up. He is a good bit ahead of the boys that moved up into our league so he is getting the big head, but at the same time he is a tad bored. However, he has several kids from school on his team, so he is loving it. I am just glad to be back at the ball field. People ask me do I ever get tired of going to the ballpark. Uumm, yes, we do. I get tired of practice in two different places at different times on different nights so there is never a night we stay at home. However, game days at the ball park, no, we never get tired of that.

We played 2 games today. Taylor is not playing, so we are not running between fields right now. Taylor is enjoying just running and around and playing. He says he will play in the spring. I don’t know if he will or not. I want him to, but we do not push him to.

After the ballgame our ball park crew headed to SAG. Yep, ball season is here again!

Back to Monday. I am working on the bus this week. It will be a long week since I am not used to getting up that early, but I am enjoying it. Jim is taking the boys to school and Paw Paw is picking them up. The kids love that.

We stayed at home tonight and did homework and just chilled out. It was a bit hectic since I got home so late and we were trying to do dinner, homework and everything at once. Usually the kids play a little bit, do homework and then once that is all done and cleared away, I get dinner started. So, it was crazy. I was calling out spelling words while I cooked and it was a mess, but we got it done.

Tuesday is looking much the same as Monday. I did not have a full bus today, so I was home earlier than usual and we got a better jump on things. It was another night of sitting at home. This getting up at 5:30 is kicking my butt!

Oct. 7, 2009 Day +2380 Day +2078 off therapy

Hump day! I am beat. I did not go to choir practice tonight. I know I needed to, but I was so sleepy. We did homework and took baths and as soon as both boys were in bed, I was right behind them.

Taylor is doing very well with his homework. The beginning of the week was looking pretty blah as far as spelling words were going, but he has got it now. He also is doing great with his multiplication tables. I was so worried that he would not get it, but he has got it!

Oct. 8, 2009 Day +2381 Day +2079 off therapy

Thursday brought a day much like all the others and a day of ball practice. Logan practiced and we watched Blake’s make up game from last week when it poured rain. Yes, the big boys all went home, but the little 4 and 5 year olds played. Ha! It was fun to watch them play and then we is the norm, dinner followed.

Taylor is very snotty, so I will not be at all shocked if he is sick soon. Logan has been snotty and coughing all week long. He is on OTC meds to dry him up. He is coughing so much that he is not sleeping well at all.

Oct. 9, 2009 Day +2182 Day +2080 off therapy

TGIF! I rode the bus this morning and then came home and got in the bed. I was so sleepy. I got up and had lunch and by 12:15 I had a call from the school nurse. She told me that Logan had a fever. I asked her to check Taylor just in case and I was on my way to get them. I did not want to check Taylor out if he did not need to be. She said, you mean this is the younger one? I thought, well yea, Logan is the youngest. She said, wow, they look a like. I don’t think they do, but oh well. I got off the phone with her and she went to get Taylor and check him. She called me back laughing. Ha, she had Taylor all along, even had a pass that said Taylor, but she was calling him Logan. So, Taylor had a fever and Logan was fine. I checked both of them out. I was a nervous wreck. Here we are at the anniversary of his diagnosis and he has a fever. AAAGH! Now, he has been fine, eating fine, playing fine, so I know he is okay, but it is still hard.

He wanted Paw paw to come to his house, so Paw Paw did and I went to do my afternoon route. When I got home the boys were outside. AAhh, music to my ears. He ran no more fever, but he is full of green snot and coughing.

I called the peds office and they said not to come in, fever not high enough for flu and with his history it is either strep or just sinus. He is eating and no sore throat, so I am guessing sinus.

Oct. 10, 2009 Day +2383 Day +2081 off therapy

7 years ago today Taylor was diagnosed. Today has its own update, so I will not go into details. We went bowling and to Jason’s Deli. Taylor got to pick what to do on his special day! Praise God for this day!
